So...What Is Axiology?

Thanks to friend that I reconnected with on facebook, I realized that more than a few people don't know what axiology is-

or may not even care...yet

What is axiology? This question can be answered with a better question-

Or questions-

What do you value?

What do you think is worthwhile?

That is axiology.
It is the systematic study of value.

It answers the question, "what makes things good?"

It is one of the branches of philosophy that includes ethics.

Formal axiology answers the scientific question of value and value theory.

It provides a frame of reference for our mental and emotional development.

When people make value judgments, they use both their mental and emotional capacities to arrive at their decision. Some people have very solid and reliable decision-making abilities – while others routinely make wrong or inaccurate choices.

Wouldn't be great if there was a way to measure the quality of judgment and decision making?

And help people learn to make better decisions?

There is...

It's called an axiological assessment.

It can help you realize more of your potential
in business and finance, life and sports. (And help you make better decisions)

Tuesday

reflections (2008) on the future (2009)

Isn't it interesting how one door closes and a better and bigger one opens that leads you on the way you chose to go in the first place?

Friends ask me what did you learn from all this?

And how did I learn it?

The HOW was easy- I learned by listening to others...their experience, their success, their entertainment, their words.

“Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. The friends who listen to us are the ones we move toward. When we are listened to, it creates us, makes us unfold and expand.”--anonymous

(I searched for the person who said this...if anyone knows, give them credit)

So WHAT did I learn?

That things and people are not always what they seem...but you can still move on from an unsatisfactory situation.

And it can empower you and allow you to become even more.

About axiology, thus the title Axiological Nature Of Business And Life . In the broad sense, axiology is the study of value and goodness.

Which will be the focus of posts in 2009.

That sometimes things take longer to build than expected...but its worth it to the others you will help (and to you in the long run)

Finally, that really, really good coaching and training are extremely important to many...in many walks of life.

And 2009?

Beyond? (what you do now prepares you for what's ahead)

Collaborate more and compete less.
Look to the leader within.
Add value to others.
Have faith.
Realize more of your potential and become your ideal self!

Happy January!
